I am somewhat traumatized right now, and very very angry/hurt/upset. I left home yesterday and came back not 30 minutes ago and during that time my fiance has sold SIX of my ELEVEN one week old chicks, including my favourite.
He called me up last night to chat and mentioned someone had called about buying some chicks. I had posted an ad that I will have some chicks available for sale in the future and to place orders (ie. I HAVE NONE AVAILABLE NOW BUT PLACE YOUR ORDER AND I WILL RESERVE SOME FOR YOU) Well, he tells me the guy wants 3 chicks. I say, okay, well that will be fine. He knew, or so I thought, that we have many orders for pullets for this summer and every single one of my ameraucanas are spoken for. He knew, or so I thought, that we would be selling a limited amount of MIXED BREED chicks (under 15) next hatch. No, as a man, this meant to him that he could call the guy up instead of waiting until I got home (four WHOLE hours later) to discuss it with me, and tell the guy that he can come by WITH HIS KIDS who the chicks are for, and take some. He sold SIX OF MY ELEVEN chicks.... so even if he thought I gave him the go ahead for 3 chicks, HE SOLD SIX. His response? "well, six isnt that much more than 3." !?!?!?!?! Not to mention he sold ALL of the chicks that I was keeping an eye on for colouring... Yeah, the guy who came by had good taste in chicks lol. No joke, the 5 chicks I have left are the ones I would have given away. Included in those 5 remainders is a runt that is half the size of the others. We were always gonna keep the lil bugger, he's very cute, but just shows you we only have 4 actual 'good' chicks left.
I'm really very upset. I don't know what to do. Now I am going to be behind on my pullet orders... a month is a big difference when I have 8 people waiting for birds!! And I can't get over my favourite chick is gone, a little buff brahma EE cross with distinctive feathering (how the hell did he miss that and sell her to the guy??). He seems to think we can just call the guy up and ask for it back. I'd feel pretty evil doing that, it wasn't his fault. I really want my Spike back though
Is it in bad taste to ask the guy if we can come get my fave chick back? I could strangle my fiance right now.
I need hugs. And a replacement man.
The worst part- I really missed him while I was gone but I am way too upset to make nice.
