My husband and I recently joked about how our newest hen has a look in her eyes that says- "I'm the boss." We now refer to her as the Head Beak In Charge.
I thought it would be interesting to post and ask for other to share videos and photos of their own leader hens or roosters- someone that commands the flock, has a stern yet maybe mothering nature. A chicken who protects, or who may be a little grumpy. Who do you consider the leader of your flock? Any poultry welcome! Tell us who they are, what breed, age, and maybe a little about their personality!
Big Red- 3 year old Rhode Island Red hen who is now Head Beak In Charge. She loves attention, and clucks for you to come visit any time you're nearby. Does not like the exsisting hen in charge, but they only exchange words. She has a very commanding personality and look in her eye. We love her!
