Head shape on Polish chicks

We just had a polish chick hatch and I want to make sure that his head is supposed to have a big bump on the top ot it. Where his crest would be is big. It even looks crooked to me. Off to one side. Please tell me this is normal.

I just hatched(actually still hatching) my first Polish chicks, and they have a knot on their head also. One is a little crooked, but I assume it is like a babies head... it will get normal eventually.

BUT, 3 out of the 4 have fairly large knots, but one chick's knot is half the othrs size.
Does this have to do with sexing them?

So far as I know, polish and silkies both have bumps on their heads when born. I have one chick now and some about to hatch. It's such a cutie!!!

Do you know if the bump size has anything to do with sex of the chick?
I have 5 Polish chicks now 3 GL, 1SL, and 1 buff. I have another chick that has pipped yesterday. I will probably give it till about 2 PM then try to help it.
Any advice on helping them?
