Health inspection cost?

Has anyone recently paid for health inspecting on their chickens? While i know every vet is different, we only have a few within comfortable house call range, so am trying to get a general idea of standard costs. So far I've been quoted $250. Each. 37 chickens. 20 quail. Seriously? I'm currently seeking a bulk rate livestock vet, but even in the land of Amish farmers, there simply aren't enough vets!
I'm going to be heartbroken if i can't take my flock to Texas. I'm not kidding. These ladies keep me sane.

Are you talking NPIP testing? That's all you should need to take your flock to another state or did you find out differently?

For NPIP testing, we were charged $10 for the adults which were I think around a dozen at the time. She drove 8 miles to get here too. I gave her $20.
