Heard an odd thing...

OK, here's one for you, but it is one of those "he said she said" things... I have a friend who has a friend who went to an old guy to get some pullets. (Sounds like just about every chicken story I have heard so far...) He did some string thing to determine which ones were pullets. Said it worked every time. So anyway, according to the story, he would grab a chick, do his string thing and either put it in the box or put it back down again. He did this until she had the 7 "pullets" she had come for. She took her new treasures home and babied them as they grew. Then one day, one of the little pullets crowed. She wasn't too surprised, and was hoping for at least 5 girls out of the bunch. Well, they were ALL roos! Apparently he was 100% wrong. Now if I can just find him and get him to bring his magic string when we go to get the Golden Laced Polish for out daughter, I can get him to pick some and I'll take the ones he puts back!

But truly, I agree with what Suzettex5 says, if there were an easy no fail way, we'd all know it by now. Just wishful thinking!

And it is fun to try!
