Heart Failure in chickens

I know this an old post. My guinea fowl Grounder was diagnosed with heart failure. X-rays and especially ultrasound confirmed. He is not like other guineas, so my vet and I decided to give medicine. He is on furosemide .3ml at 8-12 hrs a day. Enacard 2.5mg every 12 hrs and vetmedin 50mg every 12 hrs. Wanted to share as I see not much info on heart failure with our backyard besties.

Could you give an update on Grounder please? Did the Enacard and Vetmedin help?
I have a hen with heart failure, the vet drained a huge amount of fluid and put her on Furosemide two weeks ago, which has helped, but she is tired and at times she has a dark comb, so I'm looking for something to help her symptoms (I know her time is limited, but I want her to be comfortable for as long as possible)

Well, that is helpful, because I was wondering if she needed to be kept inside or not. She seems content to sleep inside at night but today she ran outside at the first opening she got, so I guess she wants to be with her sisters.

I also ordered 5,000 live meal worms in the mail so she can have some good final meals. She is also only 2 years old but is my favorite hen here (of course). I guess I'll just give her all the treats in the world and maybe look for some watermelon, since that is her favorite. It sucks because she's my favorite and I would go into bankruptcy to save her.
Tofupup, I know it has been 13 years, but I am in the same boat now with my beloved Henny Penny. I spent $1,300 diagnosing her and would spend more if I could save her. She's only two years old.

If you're still around and have any tips, I'd love to hear them. I have been told by my vet that heart medication exists; I want to try that, and perhaps I will.
