Heart or head? (FOX)

There are many places on the head where a predator can be shot. If it isn't an instant, totally incapacitating kill, then the shooter did not do it correctly.

I’ll admit - I don’t do the shooting - DH does, and it’s always instant death. He makes it look easy.

Headshot is much trickier...smaller target..moving faster...I keep the .22 by the window...

Its haveahart trap, I guess. I don't really know how to type it. I just say "Have-a-heart"

Big difference between a fox and an opossum. Fox appear to be more 'delicate' than opossums and are far easier to dispatch.

And you were correct. Opossum are extremely difficult to dispatch which is why they have survived since the time of the dinosaurs.

To begin with fox are generally reluctant to enter any cage where they can not stand full upright. The cages in C Mom's post are generally most successful. A live bird in a smaller protected cage/container is a very effective attractant. Some larger cages even have a compartment for such 'bait'.
