lol!) She has a whole new sassyness about her little self! It's quite cute! Also Felix just tried pecking my head when I leaned over to pick her up for medicine time! He is EXTRA protective of her now. I couldn't even be mad at him for it! That's his girl & everybody better back off!

My little lovebirds! Also Floss's feathers are coming back fast! Almost already completely!

Congratulations! That is so great to hear. Once again, they will surprise us with their hardiness.
Sorry, but as much as I love dogs, I just can't stand dog OWNERS who are not responsible. These aggressive dogs must be locked in cages all day, right? It is no wonder they attack. I think a rolled up newspaper and a strong arm should be used (on the owners!).
My little Australian Cattle Dog pretty much ignores my ducks! The only thing he goes after is cows! And then, he simply compresses them into a tight group, then drives them off our property.

The vet see the her home this evening! She has some of her spunkyness back which is awesome! She is drinking & eating catfood. She has tried to walk... but the DR. Said the bit was in some muscle so... it would take a little bit to fully recover. All of the wounds are on top- which means I fection shouldn't be a big problem since she won't be laying in poop or anything. She of course will have to be isolated from her hubby for awhile but I did let them see each other for a few minutes. She should recover fully with lots of love, care, & prayers!

AWE, Bless her!! Glad she is going to be ok..

How is Flossy doing? Are they enjoying their new pen?

She is awesome! Stitches come out this afternoon! Which is great bc all of her pins are in & coming back full force! Thank goodness! I was worried it would take awhile. She still has to lay down and take a rest after she walks a ways, but that's to be expected considering that bite was in the muscle. Other than that we are fantastic!--- the pin has been a bit! It really will be when the pool is filled with water instead of a giant hay nest! Lol. I haven't been letting them out the past couple of days because our weather has been crazy! But they don't seem to mind. I finally had to let them take a bath yesterday (Infront of the heater) can you say spoiled rotten ducks! I've got finish the pin when it warms up again so they can plenty of walk around room without actually being out! In time!!

I am very glad to hear of her speedy recovery. We recently had the same thing happen at our house while they were free ranging one evening, and the neighbors dog attacked our Silver Appleyard Rey. Unfortunately for us, it was not a wound that could be easily stitched up as we found out when we rushed her to Emergency Vet hospital. The dog had bitten her around her leg and tore a wound near her femoral artery and nerve and they said it was very slim chance she would pull through should they perform surgery if she made it through that even. We had the very hard decision to have to put her down and my husband bless his heart was the one who had to convince me it was the best so she would not suffer. She was my youngest duck baby and if I am honest my favorite, because of how sweet and gorgeous she was. She had a honking yell she would do when she wanted something that I have never heard from any other duck so far that I miss terribly. I miss her so much and now only a week since it happened.....we are still stinging from it. I am very glad you were more fortunate, as I would not wish that feeling on anyone.
Rey as Duckling

Her front and center as adult during their first snow about a month prior to incident. :(
