Heat affects laying?

I thought I might have heard somewhere that the heat can affect how the hens are laying but I have not seen anything recently so I was not sure if I was imagining it or not.....Normally by this time most weeks we have double the eggs or nearly over half a dozen from our girls and I just need to hear that its something easily explained and not something worse.....

Yes, heat can slow down laying....just do a search you'll probably find hundreds of anecdotes.

Well i am glad someone finally answered. For as many views as this post got and no one said anything I was starting to feel ignored, like I was asking a dumb question.

I don't know if you free range or not and it may not have anything to do with free ranging just the heat but some of my girls were laying outside under some bushes I kept taking the eggs and they are finally laying back in the coop.
