Heat control

This is what I did

I used to freeze the two liter plastic pop bottles in the garage fridge by day and hang them from the ceiling of the coop so they dangle on the perch..The chickens can belly up to the frozen bottles at night and they don't poop on them this way. i just slip them out of the slip knot in the morning and put them back in the freezer. They do make condensation though, so you need good ventilation. Spoiled birds, I know, I know.

I'd like to see this actually. Could you snap a photo maybe with the chickens near the bottles at night? Or even just the bottles hanging during the day?

I have a bottle I placed in the waterer and one that I randomly place in their run (two story coop with the run underneath) but at the end of the day the bottle I leave out is usually unfrozen and actually warm.

The black plastic is for an automatic door just to make sure it doesn't get wet. I live in the south so I guess I need to change out the side vents for bigger one. On the front vent it has wood trim around it and in the winter I put a Plexiglas over it that slides into it.
