heat lamp safety

So we just got our heat lamp today and am wanting to know what safety measures we need to prevent it from burning down our house. Our brooder is a cardboard box, so its flamable.

Make sure it is secured very well, wont drop into the box and catch on fire.
Keep it away from flammable sources.

#1-Don't let the lamp touch the cardboard.
#2-Keep the lamp a minimum of 18in. away from the floor of the brooder.

I will be doing the same thing later, so I'm wondering....what are some good ways to secure the lamp?

The best thing I've seen is a wooden stand built of 2x4 pieces (maybe a plywood base???) to which the lamp was well secured (don't rely on just the clamp..wire it).

Keep it away from the sides, bedding..etc... and lots of zipties to secure it in case it does happen to fall..
