Heat lamp?

So I don’t use heat lamps or heat sources during the winter for my chickens ducks or geese. But this is my first winter with quail. They’re so little coturnix quail. I currently have them set up in our garage. Draft free. Not heated. And last night it got cold enough to freeze their water in there. So I was wondering if I could add a heat lamp for them?

Coturnix Quail are very winter hardy, being fine even at temps below -20. They need no supplemental heat.

No problem, I got 16 coturnix myself in October and now have over 100, with 100 more eggs going in the incubator! they‘re addictive little birds.

As long as they're dry and have shelter, they're fine in the cold. They like boxes and such for shelter.

Mine do fine and we had a 2 week snap suddenly with negatives. Killed a young cockerel I had, but not a quail had problems
