Should the heat lamo be on all night i have ut on atm and they wont settle they are chirping where last night i turned it off and they snuggled in and went to sleep they are 4 ..2-3 week old Buff Cochins and Australorps's

I'm so excited i accidentally broke the lamp on the out side of the tank :/ was freaking out BUT that has now given me the chance to get a new infra red lamp for my baby chicks I'm so happy that they now have this light they seem so much more comfy in the tank and sitting all fluffed up well not overly fluffy but they look fluffyier just happy that i feel that i have something good for them ...now a question the pet store person said to leave the light on 24/7 any suggestions on this is this a thing to do ???

Make sure to get a red one, I had to switch to a white one for two days because my red one broke and the chickens did not like it at all. They hated that it was constantly bright and were more aggressive.
