Heat pad?

Yeah I have a clamp / clippy light but you are saying you use a normal white bulb like for a normal lamp? That gives enough heat? What wattage? I never heard that how interesting, I thought I had to use special bulb!? I have the red ones and I dunno I rather use something not red it annoys me... maybe that is weird but it’s hot and I don’t like the color and I’ve burnt my hand and have scars haha

Yes I use regular lamp light bulbs. I use 55 watt or 75 watt ones.
I also plug the lamp into a reptile thermostat because it actually does get hot enough...too hot..so the thermostat thing turns the clippy lamp on and off for me.
I use this one.

Ok thanks for the help. I might just stick with heat lamps but with the constant light, how do the quail sleep?

They sleep just fine. I don't use the light very long. I wean them off the light fast.
I actually don't even start them at 90F.

I think @CuteQuail is talking about the ceramic heat bulbs! I do use these instead of infrafred - slightly lower chance of setting fire to things if they explode. One important thing to be aware of is that their heat is more directional and less spread out - perfect for a small brooder, bad for a large or outdoor one.
