Heat Plates vs Heat Lamps

Can you elaborate on the difference in the snap end plates compared to the threaded rods? Like them better or worse? How do they work specifically? Sounds like they wouldn't have as many options for height adjustment? Is that good or bad? (Which would you prefer?, etc.)
There are at least 3 types of systems I know to increase height.

1.Snap on ends which I have and like it as I can remove and replace with just my hands not a screwdriver as the instructions says. Only 3 adjustments or place on something to raise height
2. Screw type pillar in each corner, infinite height adjustment to the max.
3. Ringed pillars or maybe called collared pillars, uses a piece of metal to lock in at each height adjustment..

I guess each has advantages, I just prefer the end plates, nothing to clean out threads or collars when they dirty. Since I brood in the basement,I only need no more than 4 weeks so no problem when the chicks grow larger. I just take it out. Some that brood outdoors would have to figure how to raise as the chickens get larger if the weather is very cold or the birds not feathered out.

I was looking to get the sweeterheater but opted for the Premier Heat plate instead. It arrived today and it looks pretty good. I have eggs going into lockdown on Saturday and will be trying this heat plate out when they hatch.

I plugged in the heat plate 1.5 days ago, and 5/10 chicks now prefer it. I didn't know how high to set it, so I raised it higher in the front than the back so they could decide where it's comfortable.
