So my 20 or so week old ( i will get exact age later)easter egger pullet had a heatstroke so I put her downstairs in my basement were it was cool.I understand they can have die effects.

She has one eye closed and will opens it for two seconds and then close it.
My dad is currently watching them and she is still in the basement but he gave her strawberries and she looked at it really close with her open eye and then pecked but missed I noticed too that when she puts enough effert into walking she tilts her head a little bit and walks diaganal.one of her wings droops sometimes but not always.

Could this be side effects from heat stroke or something else.
I live in NC and the temps get up to 100 not including humidity.
I have homemade electrolytes in her water and she has chick feed.she will drink a little on her own but will not eat so I have my dad show her how to drink and eat and she does like a normal Chick.

There is a thread in this injuries forum called ",Help ! hen with heat stroke" it includes a long article by that on how to treat a hen with heat stroke. look it up in this forum
if you have a computer there is a search icon for this forum. put in "help! Hen with heat stroke" and the thread should come up
I wish I could cut and paste it but my phone won't let me do that.

Okay I don't know if you found that or not but here is what I gathered from it
the bird can have a bath
temp should be near the temperature of the chicken itself not cold. the temperature of a chicken is between 102 and 103 degrees.
the bath should be between 90 and 103 degrees for the water .
give the chicken a bath ;give her a 1/2 of a baby aspirin or 1/4 of an adult aspirin . both bath and asprin will help quickly bring down the body temperature.
you should also be giving her 1/2 ounce of Gatorade 4 times a day. Yogurt and
B-complex vitamins. ( Not more than 10 mg of B1 ) .
This ladies vet said in addition ...that lime , iridescent green poop indicated heat stroke. That the lime green came from excess bile secreted when the bird was stressed.

Your pullet may well have heat stroke, but some of those symptoms could be more serious, perhaps from an illness such as Mareks. Hopefully not. Continue to offer her the electrolyte water. Also have a plain bowl of water available in case she prefers that. Outside for the other chickens, it can be a good idea to fill up several bowls in a shaded spot twice a day to make sure they always have cool water. I put out flat wide pig pans 1/2 full of water for them to stand in to cool off. Let us know how she is doing tomorrow.

For heat stroke get a basin of cool water and dip the chicken in while holding her. Cooling the abdomen and splashing water in their "armpits" will bring the body temp right down. When I've done it the chicken usually lets you know she's cool by trying to get out of the water but until then they really want to be in it. This is the same as you would do for a human (armpits, groin with ice packs or cold water packs)
