Heat wave - will our unborn chicks survive?

Thanks everyone for all your advice. We have put the sprinkler on a few times today for the chooks to keep them cool although illegally (SHHH) we have water restrictions here, but didn't think about watering the roof, I will try that tomorow. Luckily I am a stay at home mum so I can change their drinking water regularly, it has been getting hot so quickly.

Redhen, we are alive, just thanks to evaporative cooling, thank goodness because it's absolutely unbearable outside.

I think I will leave Rosie and Daisy alone and let nature take it's course - fingers crossed the babies will be okay

Sending positive hatching vibes your way !

God Bless and stay cool.

another thing you can do that will help quite a bit is to keep the sun from beating directly on the coop walls. You can hang a sheet, lean boards or plywood to make a shadow on the sunniest side of the coop. I do that for my lovebirds in the summer and it REALLY helps more than you would think it would... just a thought.
