I have 14 chicks in the brooder. It’s 90+ in the daytime and 70’s at night. The birds are 4wks old. I also have an outdoor “grow-out” coop for the small chicks that I’ve used in the past. Right now, the babies are in a lean-to built off the side of my work shop. I turn off the heat lamp in the daytime and turn a fan on to get some air moving and they do alright.
Now, I’m wondering...with the evening temps the way they are, can they come off heat now? It gets stuffy in the shed and it won’t be better anywhere else in the garage or whatnot. I’m thinking about moving them to the grow-out coop because they need to get out of the heat in the brooder. I’ve never ran into this before because mine yearly hatchlings are always grown by this time.
