Its 85 degrees out and our chicks who are 5 weeks old are not liking it, lol. I feel so guilty. They do have shade to hang out in but still they are hiding in their coop under a shelf.

That's normal. Chickens will always look for a cool, shady spot during the heat of the day like any other animal.

So long as they've got plenty of fresh water, shade, and ventilation they'll be OK.

It's 86 right at the moment so all of my chickens and myself are laying up in the shade until it cools off.

my husband is laughing at me because I want to take them back in and put them in their brooder since we have the ac going. I must be nuts
