What's a good age to take the heat lamp off my chicks?

5 to 6 weeks of age or it depends on the outside Temps. I have taken chicks off the light as early as 4 weeks.

I was just wondering the same thing. My chicks are 5-6 weeks old and I was wondering if I could turn their light off at night now. They seem bothered by the light at night to me. Thanks gamebirdsonly for the reply to this question. It helped me out a lot.

In the past, I've kept my bitties in the sun with some shelter and kept the lamp on them at night and they loved the natural sun!
