Would they be safe to put on a wall in the pea shed?

I would think so as long as you mount it somewhere were they can't lean directly against it, if no suitable place exist in the coop get some hardware mesh and make a cage around it so that they can't get say within a few inches... Also I would mount it above all the bedding just to be safe and periodically hit it with a dust brush just for a piece of mind...
