This may be a stupid question but ....
Just wondering if there’s a way to remove heavy bloom from eggs. This is the same egg one pic is a wet egg the other pic is of the same egg dry. I think the wet egg is so much prettier than the dry one. Does a hen stop putting so much bloom eventually?

The only way I think you can remove the heavy bloom is to wash the egg but then the eggs don't have as long a shelf life as the unwashed eggs.
I did wash it but when it dries it goes back to the dull color. I even scrubbed it with a green scrub pad. We typically eat our eggs within a week so not worried about the shelf life.... I have 3 teenage boys to help with that problem!🤣 thanks for the reply!

The bloom is not something the chicken can control, and it is responsible for keeping bacteria out while still leaving the egg porous.
Okay thanks! This is the only egg that’s this way.... egg from a young RIR. Just wondering if the bloom can be removed or if chicken will eventually lay with less bloom?
