Heavy fish losses

No, it is not ick, thank God!

It was just decaying, rotting away slowly, making them swim harder and more stressed.

Let's hope it is the last of the sick ones.

Ick is often easier to treat then fin rot. A minor outbreak of ick can be taken care of by raising the tank temp for a few days. Fin rot, if it gets established, needs antibiotics. Watch the rest of them closely.

When we had fancy guppies we always had a HUGE issue with fin rot. We eventually had to give them up because they constantly kept getting it even after treatment. Surprisingly, the ones that lasted the longest throughout our fin rot outbreak were the fish we bought from walmart!

ALL of our fishes came from Petsmart.

I've had those older female guppies last year, I think in April and they were the biggest ones in the tank.

I don't see anymore white tailed rots ....... so hopefully I've treated them. I think this is the third day and I am going to continue for another two days and see if anymore is happening.

There is no way I can increase the temps because i have those automatic heaters. Plug in or plug out. No knobs.
