Goober...
At this moment, he holds the title around here.
Jill's side is healing, the big scab is about to fall off as the skin heals and pushes it off. I have fixed up an old saddle by adding some faux leather material to the flank flaps to give them weight so they don't fly up so easily and can protect her better. I saw him do the extreme run-and-assault thing to Athena yesterday just like he does Jill. Thankfully, at this time, she is fully feathered so I hope she won't be injured. That boy needs more girls. I just hope he won't pick on one or two and leave the rest alone.
Now, I need to name his new little daughters. I used to have a Maddie, one of my hatchery stock BR hens years ago who went with her sister Margaret to live with Mace, Dutch''s brother, at a friend's place. She took Mace with two or three girls. He lived a long life with her, died about two years ago at a ripe old age. But, since Maddie didn't live out her life here and is not on my RIP list of birds, I could reuse the name. We used to call her Nurse Maddie because when we had to do something like bumblefoot surgery on a bird, she would supervise the entire time. It's just easier to call them by names, and trust me, they know them, even my dumb-as-rocks Aubrey knows his.
