Sons and daughters of Hector & Jill. What do you think, Mary @1muttsfan ?

The boy in the middle has a very small comb, more like a Stukel male, but I know it isn't. All I collected were Jill's eggs.

The girls' barring is sharpening up. Is the middle male in pic 3 the same as pic 7? He has a nice comb, and good size.

I think it's a different one, actually. One has a really super nice comb, that last photo of the boy by himself. A couple have definitely too many points, too much meat on the base. And there's that one that looks like a pullet except for his coloring, sitting on the bar in one photo.
The one on the bar next to the girly-boy is a Hector clone. He is crowing his head off and he challenges the big hens at the fence. A goober-in-training.

Well, surprise, surprise! All four sons of Hector are sold, pending pickup tomorrow. A guy whose name seems really familiar to me sent a message about my FB chicken swap sale post, asking about them. He wants all four because they are not hatchery birds, said "these are more the show quality type than pet quality, right?" Of course, they are good quality stock and Hector's sister has won at shows, but no chick can be called show quality at this age. I know what he's asking, though. He also asked if I was looking for something he might have. Of course, I told him about our no started birds policy but thanked him for the offer. I know I've seen this man's name, maybe just around the swap group page. Anyway, I need to let these boys go. At least I have Jane and Maddie out of the hatch. This line tends to have better females than males, overall, I'm told. But, I think Hector is very handsome and regal. He's also really smart and I see that in these boys, especially one of them.

An extra point is no reason not to show an otherwise excellent bird. It's only 5 points, so no big deal. The barring is great. The tail feathers may do a bit like Hector, and be a bit slow to develop, but his tail finally came in. The last two cockerel pics look very good.
