What is wrong with my rooster’s comb?

Update!
I think that @WhatsUpDuck and @BlindLemonChicken were perfectly right about it being fowl pox! Over the past few weeks, his scabs have gotten smaller and more crusty-looking, more like the pictures that I’ve seen of fowl pox, as I’ve stopped messing with them lol. One of them has even fallen off, so I think it’s safe to say that it’s all good now. Thanks for the help everyone! :)

The scabs can transmit the virus to other chickens when they peck in the dirt where they’ve fallen so don’t be surprised if it pops up on other chickens. It should run its course in a few weeks. My chickens have had it a couple times and it wasn’t a big deal. Wet fowl pox is much worse to deal with so it’s nice you got the dry version.
