Tom used to always slip and call our older son by his brother's name. No idea why. There was never any similarity between them, but he'd say "Donny" when he meant "Michael" and would confuse the heck out of me.

I used to mix up my daughter's names at times. I'd finally get the right one, but sometimes it took a couple tries. I do that with the grands too.

For the record, I'm Cheryl, and have not had snow all winter. I'm in Central Florida, so snow is a very rare event.

I have to remark on how super intelligent our Hector is. He takes verbal commands so well... get off the nest, Hector....step down here, Hector, jump up so I can see you, Hector.... go get your girls, Hector....take the girls home, Hector...Hector, where are you? Come home!....stop flirting, Hector, that's not nice...
And he loves, loves, LOVES to have his chest rubbed and even a hand slid down his back at the same time, the latter which most roosters don't seem to especially like. On the other hand, he is loud and raucous, goes off at the least little sound or raised voice (don't call him the Feathered Fire Alarm for nothing), and runs up to you like he's going to flog your or run right into you. He's full of energy all the time, all energy, all the time. I'll know if something is wrong with Hector if he is subdued one day, without a doubt. And the boy thinks he's a star...I found more Hector poses on the game camera screen! Mary, you gave me a pistol of a rooster here! LOL

He's serious about his job!

I gave a local guy 4 hens today, after giving him 40 eggs and my Hova Bator a few weeks ago. While he was out of town some mink got in his coop and offed all his hens.
That gives me more room in my coop, since I have 24 eggs in the Rcom I borrowed from another friend, and placed a 25 chick order from Sand Hill .
I never have trouble placing layers around here, though.
