That's interesting. I stopepd using Frontline about two years ago because it suddenly stopped working for me as well (fleas immune). I always use Advantage and it works great for my pets...even my dog with a flea allergy. I haven't found cheaper prices for Advantage...but I'm always on the lookout!
What worked for us was taking him to the vet and getting him some pills that kill any fleas/ticks that bite him. Then we washed all of his bedding (and ours) in hot water and used this powder on the rug that kills fleas then vacuumed it up a couple of days later and that worked really well. It actually took a several weeks to vacuum all that powder out of the rug but the fleas were gone so it was worth it lol. Before that we tried a 'dip' for him and spray for the house and they didn't work. Good luck.. hope you get rid of em soon!
Thanks.Yes, it's safe. We no longer buy Frontline or any of the other toxic products for the dogs.
thank you!Btw if your using dawn put it on the dog before you wet them it works so much better
Thank you so much!!!The only thing we've foudn that really works is the topical meds like Advantage/Frontline or the Capstar pills.
We have multiple dogs/cats, so I always get my meds online somewhere like www.entirelypets.com because it's much cheaper than at the vet or somewhere like Petco and you can buy a large supply. (That website often has sales/coupons and free shipping deals as well, which helps with the price)
I will only use the frontline or advantics, they are not toxic. not the cheapys. Thanks.d
My vets prices are way cheaper than that on the frontline even at the supposed sell price and we have a buy 6 get two free and the makers of frontline actually stopped selling it to vets because it doesn't work the fleas have become immune they now sell tritak so be cautious when using frontline topspot and if you have multiple dogs or dogs with sensitive stomachs you can use Adams flea spray it's wonderful stuff and cheap12 dollars if you want to go with a topical I would say advantage multi but the best by far is the comfortis and all of these only work properly if you give them every month

Can't.take them to the vet!
No, those at walmart are all REALLY harmful.Cheaper is better just make sure it's the same quality read the active ingredients there's a reason walmarts flea meds are really cheap it's because it's mostly filler and less of the ingredients that actually kill fleas
Trifexis is the only thing I have ever used that REALLY worked. I live in Georgia and my neighbors dogs are covered in fleas! They use the cheap stuff from box stores to try and keep the fleas under control...I does NOT work. Trifexis, kills fleas, worms, and heartworms. My dogs are Weimaraners, so seeing fleas would be very easy. I check them regularly and have never seen fleas. As soon as a flea bites them, it dies. My cost is $16.00 per month per dog. Very cost effective if you consider purchasing sprays to spray all over the house, topicals, flea baths etc. and none of them are very effective. This is a very dangerous situation, fleas are carriers of tapeworm and you can be sure if your dog has fleas, they also have tapeworm. Humans can also get tapeworm, all it takes is accidentaly ingesting 1 flea. Get them on Trifexis and let them run around and get all the fleas to bite THEM, and die. Within a few weeks the fleas will be gone.
Wow, The reason The expensive stuff is safer (I talked to the vet) and she said that Frontline and Advantics, have something in them to spread the meds on their skin. The cheapies, soak into their blood stream, then in turn gets pumped into their heart. Good luck.I think I am going to go with the advantage 2 for the cats next time. Not sur on the dogs.
The cheaper stuff at walmart often has the same ingredients but the carrier(or whatever it is called) is different, and supposidly affects the ability of the meds to get in the skin well.We will see because I think I got the Petarmor that had the same Frontline ingredients. I also got some methoprene to get at the eggs/larvae. Bummed to read those eggs can lie around for months in my home before they hatch.Guess we will be fighting this for a long time.
I have read of immunity issues with the fleas,so I may vary the products used. I read about the pills too.Kills the adults.Off to check prices for next months purchase. In the meantime I am flea combing them all often! I wonder if the poor guinea pig got fleas too.
