My sister works at a feed store. A guy pulled in (it is a drive through) and she walked up and said "Hello" like she always does. He just said "Why are you talking like that?! Aren't you a Christian? Say "Heaven-o!"" So she, bewildered, just said "HI!!!"

I thought it was funny.

Silly people. Tell her to ignore them. The last thing she needs to pick up is Flanders' Speak

oh dear. That's just STUPID!

mind you, I'm always astounded at what some people consider a bad word (like the correct medical terminology for their body parts... how can those be bad?)

Oh, good grief! We had a major flap around here a few years ago over a perfectly innocuous word, that unfortunately shares a few letter combinations with a racial slur. A teacher was reprimanded, and ordered to undergo sensitivity training, because she allowed her students to use it!

Part of me has a feeling that it was ment as a joke. You know, Hell-o.
