I used to be very active on this site but fell off what with the business of family life and all. I am back now to dabble a bit after 5-6 years. As a quick reintro:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We raised chickens for 8 years, mostly Marans, Ameracuanas, and Dutch Booted Bantams. We were active in 4-H and poultry shows for a number of years, did some great breeding projects, and now travel to teach about urban agriculture in schools and communities.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? None, right now. We are on the move to much to fairly own animals and care for them properly.
(3) What breeds do you have? I love Ameracauanas and Marans. They were our favorites. Silkies come in a close third
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens. They were part of my permaculture garden system.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening and stained glass
