Been lurking here for a quite a while. Have had chickens for only about 8 years. Started with 3 amercaunas. Then added 3 Red sex links.

We lost two to illness. Two to fox/raccoon.

I live in upstate NY, secretary in a westchester school district. Well, I was - now working from home.

Married to an amazing prepper.

Since I'm working from home now, we went ahead and got 6 more. Three are plymouth rock/barrd rock. Black and white stripes. That said, the gentlemen in the store (YES, it was Tractor supply) said the other three were buff orpington. They were all the same size a few weeks ago. Well, the rocks are already outside, doubled in size. These other three? Still tiny. And, one is ALL black. Black beak, feet, feathers, comb. The other two have yellow in the beaks and one has a red comb. They don't LOOK like Buff Orpingtons that I've seen...

Nice to be here. Hope everyone is staying safe (and sane) during this crazy time! Pictures

You'd know if you had a duck. Totally different looks and bodies. But those aren't buff orpingtons. Probably Cochin bantams
Seems like the guy at TSC really had no clue. Hope the bantams are good birds, I'll do my research. We got the rocks, wanted the buff orpington, too. Next time I'll go w/reputable breeder I guess.
