Hi,

I have decided to join BYC for the wealth of knowledge on this site & because I may at anytime need support and an outlet to talk about my chickens (something my mates would berate me for!)

Chooks were a fond memory for me growing up. I always had them around until I left home. I have now started my own family and wanted to afford them the same great experiences I had as child. So I just finished building a chicken coop which I spent far too much time & money on, but hey, try telling that to the 5 'lucky ladies' already enjoying it. I have started my new feathered family of pullets off with a black australorp, coronation sussex, buff sussex, Plymouth Rock & Barnevelder.

Looking forward to learning more where I can from this community,

Thank you for reading,

Ben

G'day! Welcome to BYC! You will find lots of useful information on this site. You have a very nice, diverse flock. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed--very hardy, friendly, and gentle chickens and great layers of large, brown eggs. Good luck with your flock.
