The problem I come to you with now is I just got a bird from a farm for free because it had frostbite on its foot and it's blackening I've been putting antibiotic Salve on it and wrapping it up I hope this isn't a bad idea what if there's a better idea out there to try and help save some of his foot I'd like to hear it thank you in advance for all of your input

What you are doing is fine, but the reality is that most likely all blackened parts will eventually dry up and fall off. Hopefully the bird will only lose part of its toes and not the entire foot.
