Welcome to BYC!! I had joined years ago but left as I went through a divorce and gave my girls away! I came back this spring and have a total of 21 minus five roosters. All different varieties! Enjoy BYC because there are a lot of educational information here!

Welcome to BYC ! I like homesteaders It's a great way to live out of the city and in the country with all the great country people . No offense to city folks but I like my neighbors to be far enough away that my wife can yell at me from time to time . Poor girl has to put up with me .

I prefer country folk and the space. Went from an 1100 sqft apartment in NYC to 2.5 acres and a house of our own!!! My neighbors are still a bit close but not too bad. My husband and I negotiated. I wanted the land and space, he wanted more like a community. Here we are! Lol I did make sure to include chickens as part of my deal however. There was no way I was moving anywhere that wouldn't allow me to get my chickens!!
