We currently reside in Northern Colorado. We are new to chickens and got our first 5 chicks in late February. We have a mottled java, mystic onyx, red orpington, prairie bluebell, and a welbar. It has been such a joy having them in our lives. We also have two catahoula leopard dogs and a very curious cat whom we are keeping very far away from the new members of the family!

Hi. Welcome to BYC!
My cat is curious about all chicks. After they get to around 6 weeks I stop worrying. She never bothers broody hens and chicks or any hens for that matter. I hope your cat will be the same. Good luck with your new flock.
