Hello all,
We have been chicken tenders for just over a year. We have 4 grown hens (2 Australorps, 1 barred rock and 1 silverlaced wyandotte) who have been laying for ~6 months. We have recently added 3 silkies and 6 Australorp chicks, so currently we have 13 on our property.
Two of my favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens is watching them run when they run up to you for treats and collecting eggs (it’s like Christmas).
We are a family of 5 and my younger kids love the chickens. Most of the time they are good sports about being picked up and loved on and it’s funny how begrudgingly agree to let themselves get picked up and carried around. We also have a dog who doesn’t mind the chickens.
Whenever I do google searches about chickens, BYC is one of the first to pop up always. I finally joined because my silkies are close enough to an age where I believe yall can help me figured out if my favorite is a rooster or not. 😂😭
So if you go to my post and help me figure it out or even read this far, thank you!
