Welcome- to byc and also to the wonderful adventure of chicken keeping. You have definitely come to the right place to start your chicken keeping off on the right foot. There is so much information here, to be fair sometimes that can become a bit overwhelming, so dust off a spot on the roost and settle in for some good reading. There are some wonderful folks here with years of experience that they are always happy to share. The one thing I would say as you read through the different ways that people do things, and even encounter some seemingly conflicting advice, is remember that the beauty of chicken keeping is with very few exceptions, there is no one right or wrong way of doing anything.. it's all about finding what's going to work for you and your flock.
