Hellowelcome to BYC! Two dozen to 50, that escalated quickly! Love the different breeds you have, I love Ayam Cemani
if you have pictures of your flock, it would be cool to see. Do you keep them separate by breeds or all together free-range?
Beautiful! Some of the chickens ,Darcy and his ladies a silver Spangled Hamburg ,they have a bigger run now ,this was when they first arrived and werent used to being outside in the open
thank you ,these are our current house chicks ,they are rejects from their mums because they hatched later than the rest of their hatch matesHello and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
You have an amazing flock! They are gorgeous.

I had a late hatcher this year too. Her hatch mates were all out on April 30. She needed help getting out and hatched on May 1. May Day... I named her MaeDay and tucked her under her mother the night she hatched. The first day was bumpy but she soon gained strength and caught up to her hatch mates. It helped that it started snowing and the mother refused to leave the maternity ward with them for over 2 weeks.thank you ,these are our current house chicks ,they are rejects from their mums because they hatched later than the rest of their hatch mates
thats lovely ,I am glad the mother took the chick back ,the mother hen attacked Pip the biggest chick ,I went to let her out of the coop in the morning and she got up and noticed Pip had hatched out in the corner of the nest ,she started pecking at it and shoved it out I managed to rescue it and its fine now but poor Pip was frightened of chickens for the first few weeks we have only just got it comfortable being in the little rabbit run we bought for them so they can be in the garden but safe .I had a late hatcher this year too.
