Hello! and welcome to the OEGB thread.

Hi folks,
I posted this once before, but didn't get an answer that I saw...so I will ask again, just to be sure. Are there any mille fleur breeders in here? I have been looking for a long time for some Mille OEGB's but can't seem to find anyone that has or sells them. I was told that Ideal has some this year, but wanted to check once more in here first.

I am in upper east TN and would like to find some close, but apparently, they are a hard find anywhere. Any suggestions or leads would be appreciated.

Typically 6-8 months. Some particular lines vary a bit some are slower to start than others, but on average around the 7 month mark give or take a few weeks.
My Crele pullets started laying at 5 months. I was told that OEGB's mature faster than other banties, so they lay at an earlier age.

Could anyone correct me on this if I'm wrong?

I am not sure about OEGB, but my Serama's start very young. I had a NYD hatch pullet drop her first eggs last week. I got 3 eggs last week from her and another gave me 1. A neighbor of mine that has Lemon Blue OEGB, also said she was getting eggs early from hers. I have always known bantams to start laying a bit earlier than the big birds, but its just my experience.

So 5-6 months?

yup, sometimes a bit early, but mostly around then. Again, that is my experience. I have Cochins, Silkies, Seramas, D'uccle's and they all started at least by 6 months....most began to lay around 5 but never were fertile until a bit closer to 6. I try to keep my girls away from boys now until they are 6 for a bit of maturity. They seem to fall in line with laying and fertility better for me, it seems.

Hello everyone! I have only been a member for a month now and I am loving this site. I had these pics on another thread in regards to whether they are both cockerels or not. Of course the answer I have received is they both are, they were supposed to be hens. Anyway, it was suggested to me I should post pictures here to see if they are in fact OEB's. The person that answered my other question said he didn't have OEB's and wasn't for sure if they were or not. So any thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks.
