as i said, im not a judge - and its very hard to do in pictures. this is baldwin's description of lemon blue hens:
FACE; dark mulberry. EYES; dark. BEAK; dark. SHANKS and TOES; leaden blue. plumage color is head - lemon. neckhancle; lustrous blue, each and every feather evenly laced with lemon. Front of neck and breast; slate blue, each and every feather evenly laced with lemon, free from lemon shafting. all other blumage selections; slate blue.

When I first got her and was trying to figure out what color she was everyone said LB. now they are saying something else because her feathers have been bleached out from the sun.

This is her when I bought her.

This is her now. After almost a year without a molt.

in the top picture she looks pretty good. the light colors now can be caused by a few things, they do fade some with age but hers is a little drastic. does she get a lot of sun?

Yes! I have an open pen. With chicken wire on top. It gets really sunny down here in south ga.

ok, she will more than likely improve after molt. a few other things that cause it, just for your information. mites and lice, lack of oil or fatty substances, internal parasites may cause it to, im not sure. some people claim a lot of corn in the diet may cause it too. if you dont think its any of these that caused her to lighten up, try adding some black oil sunflower seed to her feed; if you dont already.

i dont know about GA but here in Ohio weve been having some strange weather this year. if youve had several spells of wet then dry weather, that can cause their feathers to dry out.

im far from an expert here, just trying to pass on what ive encountered along my own journey in the chicken world.
