Hello! and welcome to the OEGB thread.

This is my SDWOEGB pullet. Her breast feathers aren't full colored. Since she is young could she molt those and have them come back the right color??

Mine was noticeably bigger than the rest of our OEGBs, but he wasn't enormous. They all came from Ideal and I have heard that hatchery OEGBs tend to be on the bigger side compared to show birds. I wish I had another picture of him, but here he is last June. It's not a great picture, but you can kind of just barely see the dirty brassy color on his saddle feathers. As summer went on the color became more pronounced. It was kind of funky - you could tell that the feathers used to be lavender but they had a dirty yellow cast to them. I read that white OEGBs should be kept inside or in very shaded runs to keep their color from yellowing, and we had a white rooster turn brassy in the same feathers so I just assumed the sun was to blame on the Self Blue roo too.

Mine is looking more like a porcelain though.

i don't have porcelain oegbs but I do have them in d'anvers. I think porcelains are supposed to have a darker tail. im leaning towards self blue/lavender. brassy colors are a common problem in breeding.
