your pullet should have solid color in her breast at 7 months a little earlier is more desirable. again this is a common problem in breeding, I am pretty sure it causes white in the breasts of males.

are you looking for pets or show birds? these birds would make fine pet birds, and with some breed work are useable.

i don't have porcelain oegbs but I do have them in d'anvers. I think porcelains are supposed to have a darker tail. im leaning towards self blue/lavender. brassy colors are a common problem in breeding. 

I really don't know how old she is. She hasn't laid though. I've had them both for 3 months now. She looks really young to me.

OEGB competition is very high for showing. I have creole, fawn red, fawn silver duckwing, and silver duckwing in what I will call breeder's quality. they came from show birds but I wouldn't call any of them "perfect". from what I have seen farmgirl01 does have some pretty nice birds so I would go in that direction first.

for your friend's information: most OEGB breeders will raise 40 or 50 chickens to chose 1 for show. there is a lot to breeding them correctly. if your friend is new to OEGB's I would recommend getting Baldwins book on old English and modern game.

He's been doing this for a while. He's picky on what he keeps for his breeding program. The show I went to when he brought all his that he'd been working on he won in every catagory and also his cochin got grand champion. So he does know what he's doing. Thank you for the advice. I will pass it on to him.

Definitely some sort of blue. A lemon blue only has the lemon in the hackles (neck feathering) which this chick doesn't have yet, so...don't see any cause for concern.

BB Reds can be sexed as day old chicks. 

please tell me how they can be sexed. I have 2 BB Red hens and 1 rooster and I want to breed them. How do I tell the sex?
