Oh okay cool thanks!

Novice question- I have 2 OEGB cockerels, roughly 4 months old. Both are losing tail feathers. They are actually buddies, and don't really fight with each other, as they have grown up together, but there is the occasional peck here or there. I'm assuming that they are doing this to each other? It seems too young to molt, but I've never had cockerels before. What is your advice here?

How long until they regrow the feathers?

Thanks

Their primary residence has been a small cage indoors for the winter, and we would let them spend time into the bigger aviary style coops outside during the day, while the big hens were free ranging. We tried to take them out of their cage daily, so they wouldn't feel so cooped up!

This past weekend, however, we finished their outdoor coop, and since our nighttime temps are now in the mid 40's, I've put them in there. It is 4x4x6 for just the 2 chickens.

It's probably because they are being kept together. OR their tails are being eaten by the cage wire. See how they do in the coop now. OEGBs are cold hardy so you shouldn't have to worry too much unless it goes below 0, even then I just give everyone a hand full of hay and make sure they have a mate to cuddle with.
