found this site by another member telling me about it "acre of blessings" very helpful Thank you.

I am a butcher in grocery store & am planning to start raising some chickens I want to have more natural products instead of what we are forced to buy.

I live in Stuart VA area & will be building a place for chickens during the winter & hopefully can get on right track by spring.

    Thanks,
    Randy

Quote:yes at one time I had a knucklehead, a panhead. & a shovelhead & came up with that & I have used it since. it also makes it easy when I go to a few automotive & motorcycle groups as I dont have to look up my sign in name. lol

as soon as I get some days off I will start working on my coop I havent had a day off in 2 weeks & wont for at least 2 more weeks I even have to work thanksgiving day but just a short shift.

I been waiting for some free or cheap poles & I just picked up aprox 30, 5' long poles that were used to hang lamps in my store they changed from mercury vapor lights to floresent & I was able to bring my sazall & cut all the steel poles off.

I have some regular yard fencing which I hope will work? I am planning to put the 2 foot netting at bottom to keep critters out I got 6 rolls of fence for free from a guy that removed it.

I know there are foxes around & have heard of bobcats & plenty of snakes mostly black racers around the house man talking about fast before I can draw a gun I had on & aim there gone, & I havent seen any bears but know there around 1 ate neighbors pumpkin a couple years ago he had on his porch.

    anyway later,
    Randy

    Welcome to BYC Randy!

If you have not yet been informed, there is a hazing. For you, you are required to supply all existing members with a steak! Just one each....... [IMG]

Just kidding of course! Unless you really want to?

What kind of chickens are you leaning toward?
