Hello, been a stalker now a member

Hello, I've googled so much and it takes me back to this site every time so I finally decided to join in. I have so many questions I can't wait to explore. I currently have 3 adult hens 1 roo(at the time trying to decide his fate) and 6 chicks that keep me guessing what they are breed and gender. I love all my babies and breaks my heart when I lose one. They are pets not dinner.

Good luck with your flock! If it helps, you can post pictures of your pullets over 8 wks and have some of us guess the gender if you need a second opinion

Congratulations on finally joining. I, too, waited a long time before becoming a member. But, it's so much more fun to be able to join the conversations!

All of my birds (chickens, runner ducks and geese) are also my babies. I have kept from them the fact that I eat chicken, but only nameless, headless ones from the grocery.

I will object to spending $6 for a whole chicken at Aldi, but I won't bat an eye for a $100 vet bill to save my hen's leg.

I hope all your chicks are hens and that you find a suitable solution for your roo's fate.

Lol i didn't even think of that oops. Just a stalker of knowledge on this page. Although sadly I have dealt with a few after my chicks. I'm the crazy person at 1am in the freezing pouring rain searching for a chick that didn't make it into the coop at bedtime. People say I'm crazy I say I love my pets.
