Hey all! Almost every single time I go to do some research on chickens, ducks, and micro farming, I end up here, finding excellent info, so I'm thinking this is the place to be!

I remember when I was about 6 or 7, we had about 10-12 chickens, mostly RIRs, a roo (don't remember which kind), 3 ducks, all Rouens if I remember correctly (either those or mallards, but they're pretty close anyway), and a few rabbits. I really miss all of that, and finally have the right environment to do it again... I'm 32 now, and can't wait to feel that same 7-year-old awe and excitement all over again!

We started building our little chicken house/coop yesterday from reclaimed lumber we got off the side of the road... It was extremely fun sitting in the grass with my wife pulling & straightening nails, and piecing together something that we know will be wonderful! I'm a big-time DIY-er and outside-the-box thinker, so you'll probably see some crazy, didn't-know-you-could-do-that stuff coming from me in the near future... :)

Anyway, so happy to be here, and thanks for having me!

. We have a lot of DIY-ers here that I'm sure you will love to meet. Since you have prior duck experience I hope to see you in the duck section
