Hello BYC!

Hello all!
I am new to BYC and chickens in general. I've recently talked my husband into getting some chickens to complete our "farm family." We haven't gotten any yet but I've been researching coops, breeds, care, and what have you. My mom and dad raised chickens and all sorts of birds before my time (nearly 21 years ago) so she will be a big help. Most of my research, especially the coops, have brought me to BYC so I decided to join since I'm on here a lot anyways. We will start work on a movable coop here shortly and hopefully have some chickens by the end of March! Any advice for a couple of beginners is greatly appreciated!

Thank y'all! One of our friends offered to give me a couple of silkies (I only want 2-3) but I'm not sure whether they will be adults or chicks I guess it all depends on his flock and if he is currently hatching any.
