Thanks Ravynscroft for the advice it's much appreciated,
I've been soaking it in Epsom salts then applying Manuka Honey,
I was given some Iodine by my Farmer Neighbor but it's the orange type, I've not used it as was (am) unsure of the difference between that and the clear ?..

You know, I'm not sure myself, lol... clear is just not colored, *I think*... most every pharmacy carries it though, very small bottle sometimes labeled as Iodine Tincture, Colorless, or Decolorized Iodine... I haven't tried Manuka, but have heard good things about it...

The key is to get the infection pulled to the surface and then removed completely, infection in poultry is usually hard and not liquidy... and needs to be removed before the wound can heal...
