Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock!:welcome BYC is a helpful site providing all of the information you need to know about poultry. There is always space for more members on the BYC roost!:highfive: How old is Carl? Cockerels can be late as 8 months to crow. Both of your cockerels appear to look quite young. Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!

Welcome and what beautiful chickens you have!

Thanks everyone. This has been an interesting convo for me. I wonder why Carl doesn’t crow. Actually he is older than Panchito.
You will either get an egg or hear crowing!

It is a bit odd but I do not know how old they are?

Generally a second rooster (or cockerel) will not crow in the presence of an Alpha roo.
The pictures are too small to hone in on specific clues but, they seem long legged. Maybe some game bird in their background.

You can also post their photos at "what breed or gender is this." for more opinions.

Hello Jessica and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I agree that Carl is not crowing in the presence of Panchito because Carl is the submissive cockerel. They are getting along well now because there are no ladies to fight over. That will likely change when pullets are introduced. If enough pullets are introduced and there is enough room, they may form two mini-flocks within the flock where the girls will choose which cockerel they want and there will be little fighting once the dynamics have been established. That will all depend on the personalities of the boys.
Good luck!
