I strongly believe you need llamas. They are great protection for farm animals! Then you can get; goats, ducks, turkeys, horses and cows!

Welcome to BYC and congratulations on your new digs. Plan to make your new coop and run totally predator proof. Electricity is a great protector. I love sighthounds and would love to see pictures of yours. I unfortunately can’t have one because their prey drive is too intense for my chickens and cats.

Hi! Welcome to BYC! Congrats on the new home! You will love having chickens and I wonder if you know just how attached to them you will get. That why I agree with others here. You need to make a predator proof coop and pen for your chickens with that many predators. Sure, the cockerel will sound the alarm and even fight off the predator, but not before you lose him and possibly more chickens. Then the predator will just keep coming back. You will save yourself a lot of heartache if you take precautions.
